DIY - Organizational planner

What's a better way to define your direction for the year than make your own planner. Check this video from this very organized blogger with tips on how she organized her life when she was in college:

Enjoy and gentlemen, this can be done by you too. You can just stay clear of turquoise, pink or glitter if you feel it would be a threat to your masculinity (and for the gents who don't have a problem with those colors scheme, ROCK ON!)

Another alternative to this very colorful and super structured method could be this chalkboard monthly calendar featured on Martha Stewart's website. It's pretty cool: http://www.marthastewart.com/271574/custom-color-chalkboard-paint

Be organized with your business (in this case, school and personal growth) and have with the rest!

Setting goals before starting the school year

This might sound corny but it is important for you Lincolnians to come into this new year with goals and objectives for your academic success, your social enjoyment and your personal development and growth. If you just plan on winging it, you will be more likely to find yourself trapped in poor study habits, social isolation or emotional turmoil.

A good first couple of week activity to consider would be write a 2012-2013 Bucket List, a top 5 goals for the semester or partake in an activity you've never been in or get involved in programs outside your comfort zone.

Share your thoughts, plans, action and experiences on this blog as well as with your roommates, suitemates, RAs or friends.

YEAH-YUH!

Too lazy to cook or dine out?

No one will leave this building without having ordered something to be delivered in Lincoln. The beauty of Columbus and especially the University District is the variety of food that you can get delivered besides PIZZA!

Here are just a few (you can find more information on GrubHub):
  • Subs (jimmy johns, king's pizza, pita pit, PAD)
  • Pizza/wings (domino's, pizza hut, PAD, king's pizza, formaggio, etc...)
  • Asian (Taste of orient)
  • Italian (formaggio, king's pizza, etc...)
  • Mexican
  • Greek (Pita Pit)
  • Desserts (Insomnia Cookies)
Rejoice Lincoln League, for where I come from, pizza and subs were the only two types of food and there were about 4 food joints that delivered.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! though... do not only eat these... remember, you are what you eat! We are one of the very few buildings that have a common kitchen so let's use it. A post will be coming soon about adopting a healthy diet in very early on in college, especially in your first couple of years, and especially when you live on-campus. Watch out for that post....
