Job opportunity for you residents!

*** Fall 2013 Job Opportunities Making Social Change ***

We’re looking for smart, hard-working students who work well in a team and are eager to work for change after graduation.

The Fund for the Public Interest helps some of the top progressive organizations in the country work on issues such as green energy, equal rights for GLBT Americans, and stopping big corporate money in our elections.  And we're hiring!

Specifically, we're hiring Citizen Outreach Directors to run our grassroots campaign offices across the country next fall -- working on behalf of groups like the Environment America, the Human Rights Campaign and US PIRG. It's a lot of responsibility, mainly focused on hiring, training and managing a staff that goes out into communities to build grassroots support for these organizations’ campaigns. We’re looking for students who might be up for this challenge and would be passionate about working on environmental and social justice campaigns.

We are looking for smart, motivated students who want to get their hands dirty and make a real impact on some of the most critical issues facing our society.

If you are interested in applying:
Visit our website at www.fundjobs.org, or
Contact Jon Riley directly at 312-559-4701 or jriley@fundstaff.org.

Get a Chipotle for your.... BLOOD!!!!

Sounds morbid right? #TeamEdwards. In 3 days, you will get the opportunity to do just the opposite of dying in the hands of a vampire or cult... you will save someone's life with your blood. To thank you for such a selfless act of kindness (and I'm sure Edward AND Jacob will approve of this), the Red Cross is giving away $5 gift card to.... yours truly.....  C-H-I-P-O-T-L-E!!!

Monday, 8/27 from 2-8pm
Tuesday, 8/28 from 2-8pm

Please do not forget to set an appointment by either calling 1-800-RED CROSS (733-2767), or by going on www.redcrossblood.org with the sponsor code buckeyes.

If you do not set up an appointment before Monday, you can still do it on site the day of the blood drive!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE YOU GIVE BLOOD:
  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Eat a good breakfast the morning of the drive
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Relax! Remember, you can potentially help save up to THREE lives!

TOWER OF TACOS!!!

So you heard Marushka and your RA talk about the Tower of Tacos... What is it all about and where is it going to be?

=

Starting at 8PM, you will come to the second floor of Lincoln to learn all about the TofT. You will go to each floor to make your taco while learning about different resources and leadership opportunities Lincoln and OSU has to offer you. There will be an element of competitition but you've got to participate to find out.

This is a tradition here in Lincoln and this year will be no exception. We look forward to seeing you all after classes.

Have fun and congratulations on making it to Lincoln!

PS: Our theme this year is Lion King... even that picture still doesn't make any sense... o.O

See you all there soon!
- Love, Lincoln Staff!

Too lazy to cook or dine out?

No one will leave this building without having ordered something to be delivered in Lincoln. The beauty of Columbus and especially the University District is the variety of food that you can get delivered besides PIZZA!

Here are just a few (you can find more information on GrubHub):
  • Subs (jimmy johns, king's pizza, pita pit, PAD)
  • Pizza/wings (domino's, pizza hut, PAD, king's pizza, formaggio, etc...)
  • Asian (Taste of orient)
  • Italian (formaggio, king's pizza, etc...)
  • Mexican
  • Greek (Pita Pit)
  • Desserts (Insomnia Cookies)
Rejoice Lincoln League, for where I come from, pizza and subs were the only two types of food and there were about 4 food joints that delivered.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! though... do not only eat these... remember, you are what you eat! We are one of the very few buildings that have a common kitchen so let's use it. A post will be coming soon about adopting a healthy diet in very early on in college, especially in your first couple of years, and especially when you live on-campus. Watch out for that post....
