First things first!

INTERNET USE

Most of you's first instinct will be to access the web. Hopefully you are viewing this blog because you successfully managed to log in the system with your OSU IT information. If not, you can either go to the OSU Identity and Access Management page at my.osu.edu or you can contact the IT Service Desk by calling 614-688-HELP (4357) during business hours (before 6pm).

CAMPUS MAP

You are now all moved in, you've updated your Facebook status letting your friends know you're now a Buckeye and after taking that much needed nap, you are now wondering how to get around this huge campus. Here is a map that can help you:

It might be difficult to see here but the PDF version of the map can also be found here. Look for the scarlet Horseshoe Stadium (row 7, column I of the map) and you will see two brown "circles" (more like stars) southwest of the stadium. The farthest circle is Lincoln.

TRANSPORTATION

Parking
Parking can be tough on this campus, especially with all the construction going on. There are four parking areas on campus: A, B, C and D. A allows you to park anywhere (and thus cost the most) while D has the most limited options (and is the cheapest). The parking spots by the building are for short term parking.
Go to the Transportation and Parking page of the OSU website to find out how to get your parking permit. Click here to access maps of various parking areas. Also make sure to read the Policy and Procedures as well as Citation information. Ignorance is NOT bliss when you violate policies so be informed!

Bus
For those who can't or choose not to drive, there are buses that pass right by Lincoln and Morill on Cannon Drive. There are two bus systems you can use to get around the campus, the neighborhood or the city.
CABS is the Campus Area Bus System and consists of buses that ride mostly on campus. COTA is the Central Ohio Transit Authority and its buses will take you anywhere in Columbus and its regional areas. Here is a map of the CABS and COTA bus lines:

Bike
In addition to riding the bus, another way to be green and easily navigate the campus and neighborhood without worrying about parking is by biking. There are several bike racks right by Lincoln and Morill for your convenience. It's safe and highly recommended to all students and OSU affiliates to register their bikes with the Transportation department. You can get instructions on how to do so here.
Laundry
Washing - $1.50
Drying - 25 cents per 15 mins
You can use your buck ID money for this or you can use quarters... Buck ID always better!
There are two washers and two dryers in the laundry rooms (1 room per floor).

Hopefully, this was hopefully in helping you start your exploration of your new home for the next 3-4 years. Enjoy and contact the front desk if you have any additional questions. They will have  brochures for various nitty gritty information.
